They don't give a shit about this site, but kids will talk about it and someone somewhere will probably be concerned if their KIDS are concerned about something political, and hopefully look into it to see what it is. But deviant art user base isn't really going to do jack shit in helping.
The most that will happen is spreading awareness which I am personally fine with.
If everybody in the so called "first world" donates only 1€ that would be ~1,2 billion. You can feed a lot of people from that.
The kids could get awareness by simply telling their parents what is going on. If they don't care, they wouldn't care about these memes. What I am talking about in the journal is not the fact that they are doing it wrong, they are doing it because it's popular. Like "uh, something bad is going on, I have to copy'n'paste this censor-deviation so i'll probably get some clicks, faves and maybe some kawaii comments".
Keeping up on an event doesn't mean that people are going to talk about it. personally keeping up on an event doesn't magically spread public awareness. That wouldn't be any different than.. say me watching two kids have a fight on the internet.
Yes. 1.2 billion could feed a lot of people but 1.2 billion could also fix large problems that need fixing inside the country it's self.
None the less the message is being spread around even if it is being spread by children who may or may not understand what it is they're spreading.
