Wikipedia turned black, Google was decorated with black bars and 4chan had a black stripe in the upper right corner. Since then the whole internet was a single shitstorm against the US lobbyist government.

Where have you been all the time before? Where are you if not your precious internet is in danger but the fucking lives of thousands of people?

Where is your protest against the slaughter of the syrian people to counter to insurgency? Where is your protest against Israel's oppression of the palestinian people? Against the ongoing apartheit anarchy in South Afrika? Against thousands of people starving in africa while the few rank soil is exploited to grow crop for forage and biodiesel? Against modern slavery in east-asia to get some cheap goods for you?

Where the fuck are you if not your personal freedom is in danger?

I tell you what I think. You don't really care for the SOPA/PIPA/ACTA-thing. You are just running with the herd. Not giving a single shit of what happens on the other pastures as long as no one messes with yours.

So :iconfingerplz: you, anti-SOPA-hypocrites!

Note: I do not support SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, whatever. I support everybody who has the balls to protest against oppression, genocide, fascism etc. But I do not support meme-protests wich is what is going on there.

It's extremely simple.
Human beings are selfish pricks.
People don't give a flying fuck about other people that will probably NEVER effect their lives in any given way at all. They have their own lives to attend to.
Also except for maybe a handful of god fearing tools, who ACTUALLY gives a shit about a bunch of worthless poor people? do you?

SOPA/PIPA/ACTA , threatens millions of personal lives, in a more advanced country, and so people took action. Because people, highly dislike being threatened obviously..

I don't give a crap on god but I do care about what is going on in the world. Why not?

I know about the ACTA-thing and the harm it can cause. I am taking action but not by spamming dA with copy-pasted meme-shit.

Wait what? where are you getting God from that? I didn't mention any "god".

The meme shit is just for trying to spread the message about what it is around, and granted it's annoying, I won't complain. Maybe all the retarded children that come on here will learn a little if it's shoved in their face enough by the people they watch.

"Also except for maybe a handful of god fearing tools" You did.

Those children will just copy the avatar and join the group, maybe they will do an anti-SOPA/PIPA/ACTA-picture. But what shit should a government some corrupt lobbyists give for an avatar? Do these childs go on the street or even sign an online petition? I guess not.

oh wait. right. I apologize. It's early for me.
Are you saying you're actually actively helping a cause then? You're donating money or sending food or water or actively helping the less developed countries?
Simply keeping up with whats going on in those wastelands doesn't count.

They don't give a shit about this site, but kids will talk about it and someone somewhere will probably be concerned if their KIDS are concerned about something political, and hopefully look into it to see what it is. But deviant art user base isn't really going to do jack shit in helping.
The most that will happen is spreading awareness which I am personally fine with.

Indeed I am donating some money to international welfare organizations. Keeping up does count. Public awareness can make rich countries help poor countries as politicians are usually elected by the public.
If everybody in the so called "first world" donates only 1€ that would be ~1,2 billion. You can feed a lot of people from that.

The kids could get awareness by simply telling their parents what is going on. If they don't care, they wouldn't care about these memes. What I am talking about in the journal is not the fact that they are doing it wrong, they are doing it because it's popular. Like "uh, something bad is going on, I have to copy'n'paste this censor-deviation so i'll probably get some clicks, faves and maybe some kawaii comments".

Which organizations?
Keeping up on an event doesn't mean that people are going to talk about it. personally keeping up on an event doesn't magically spread public awareness. That wouldn't be any different than.. say me watching two kids have a fight on the internet.

Yes. 1.2 billion could feed a lot of people but 1.2 billion could also fix large problems that need fixing inside the country it's self.

None the less the message is being spread around even if it is being spread by children who may or may not understand what it is they're spreading.
